Review: Pillory is a new band for me so I didn't know what to expet from them. In one word they might be labelled as grindcore, but in fact this is a combination of death metal, grind, hardcore and deathcore. Strange mix, isn't it? Well, that's great, cause a band that have no variations in its music is boring. Saying that, Pillory are not a boring band by far. Putrid Pete is the newest guy in the formation, but he does a great job combining brutal growls with hardcore vocals and being supported by two other vocal types it's a great combination; I found both Exit 13 and Cock and Ball Torture influences in that. At the instrumental part we are served with straight forward intense rhythms. The extreme maniacs open minded for some new and odd combinations may like this a lot (fuckin' listen to the ending of the third song - straight from the animals' hell!) - sometimes the music turns into pure hollocaust!
