Review: Beheaded is certainly the biggest Maltese metal band (I've heard only of Abysmal Torment beside them) and in the last few years they are certainly attacking the world's top in Europe, alongside bands like Disavowed, Spawn Of Possession, Despondency or Pyaemia. Now to get to the point, "Omnious Bloodline" is their first worldwide release and their first one out on Unique Leader Records. Well these guys are some worthy followers of the Suffocation brutal death metal tradition mixing ultra-low guttural vocals with a very technical and brutal instrumental part; they play tremolo and heavy riffs a la Suffocation, morbid sounding harmonies a la Cannibal Corpse, technical touches a la Morbid Angel sometimes, all wrapped with a modern feeling (they use even these nowadays trendy horror-movie samples but incorporated in music, as Metallica did, not as intermezzos or intros). The cover-artwork is simply great and this Japanese guy, Sho seems to have all the skills to do some masterpieces in artwork. Well, that and the fact that Beheaded is a hard-working band (before signing with Unique Leader they organized a European and an American tour all by themselves), we might take it as granted that they will reach the tops.
