Review: It's a long time since I've firstly heard about this band but I never had the opportunity to listen any of their tracks. Now their label, Ledo Takas, is presenting the band's third album. It seems the work for this one took them three whole years, but the final result is worthy of all that effort. Don't know if you remember Hin Onde's "Songs of Battle" and its success. Well, Obtest reminded me of Hin Onde through their atmosphere, although they are a little bit different musically speaking, and I think they'll receive the same feed-back for this album, if not even better. "Is Kartos I Karta" means "From Generation to Generation" and has all its 9 tracks written in the band's native language which for many might be an impediment in buying it, but I know a lot of heathen metal fans are craving for such ethnical bands. The best thing in their music is that even if you don't understand their lyrics, their music gives you the impression you live in the early days and are proud of your ancestors (even if they are singing about their Lithuanian ancestors), and that's what a pagan metal band is supposed to do, to bring the old days back to our memory. Musically speaking they are a combination of Hin Onde with old epic Bathory albums like "Hammerheart", but still having their own identity and original sound. The production on this album is great so if you're into barbarian heathen heavy metal music don't hesitate to search for this album, it won't disappoint you.
