Review: Holy crap, National Napalm Syndicate is one of the oldest metal bands in Finland, being around since 1986 (!!!) and I confess I never heard of them before getting this CD in Tempest's mailbox... Don't know their story, but I tell you they have reached a point where their kind of thrash metal is a very modern one, a combination of Kreator, Nevermore and the new wave of thrash metal. I would have expected a band like this to pop up from Sweden or Norway, but never from Finland. The sound is very fresh, even refreshing I would say, very up to date technical-wise. Tight guitar riffs, powerful, effective and exact rhythm section, very good vocal work (although it could use a more varied temos on their new album) and the best thing, not a boring album. The occasional melodic inserts are helping them in reaching a more original path and catchy feeling. The album has its memorable parts, but I am sure the new one will take the thrash metal scene by storm, so watch out!
