Serpent Skies Total time: 19:22 Review: Well, Mastema is a new name for my ears, although they are not so new to the scene. So, for those of you who don't know 'em, Mastema is into black metal, combining the new, ultra-fast rhythms with the old-school thrash/black influences and sounds. They remind me of the Finnish band Opus Forgotten with their incredibly fast passages and their catchy lead guitars. Definitely this is a band to watch as it has an immense potential. I'm sure we'll hear more about 'em in the near future. I like those bands that are creating dark, evil feelings through their technical skills, not using lots of different effects to do it.
