Review: Kai Hansen has in Gamma Ray a more powerful way to express himself in the rock scene and that succeeds him well. If I'm not mistaking this is Gamma Ray's 10th studio-album to date, so there are 10 new tracks for the countless fans of this band. After listening them several times I'm not impressed a lot by this album, as there should be higher expectations from a band with such a name. Gamma Ray delivered us inhere 10 tracks based more on the '80's kind of melodic heavy metal music with no modern or innovative touches. It is perfectly executed and stuff, but I am saying those kind of big bands should always bring us excellent albums to crush all our heads, as that proverbial saying: it's hard to reach the top, but it's even harder to stay in the tops. So, all in all I will not characterize the guys' skills as every one of you should know by now Gamma Ray's sound and if you like it, if you're a fan, this will not disappoint you at all as there's plenty of good heavy metal riffs, good vocals, epic choirs, melodic leads, powerful rhythms, and so on. But that would be for nostalgics only as the ones interested in modern touches, in innovations, will be cold to this.
