This new strike of Children Of Bodom seems more like a caress than a real strike, so they seem to become more and more commercial. For me that wouldn't be a problem, but I listened to this and it really left me wasn't what I expected from them. The tracks are good, for sure, as these guys are great instrumentists, but from one of the biggest metal bands you would expect more. If it wasn't for this impressively professional recording, Children Of Bodom would be lost in the massive pile of similar bands in the scene nowadays. Now on with the good things on their music also: the guitars are getting more and more precise, like two scalpels, the rhythms section as well, and the vocals as usual at C.O.B. Now, beside their technical/melodic metal they have added more progressive and power influences, so if you're listening this album by instruments, you'll say it's a great one and you wouldn't be wrong (Alexi is a guitar monster for damn sure!), but the problem is if we take it as a whole. Tracks 5, 7 and 8 are the ones which will fully please their fans; they are written in the same manner the old ones were: technical, melodic, serene and enchanthing ones.
