Review: Well, I guess the major part of the listeners of this album will be intterested in it firstly because of Dave Ellefson (former bass player in Megadeth) and Avian will be labelled as Dave's project, although I'm not agreeing with this at all. There's nothing even close to what Megadeth did or does at the time. Avian is a melodic power metal band based in my oppinion more on Lance King's (Pyramaze, ex-Ballance Of Power) excellent vocals; the man has an amazing voice, he knows that and he tries to do a lot with it, and the best thing is he succeeds in that. He knows where to support it with backing vocals or choirs which leads me to think he's pretty gifted with a good immagination. Anyway, Lance King is not the only one in this band who's showing good potential, as the instrumental part is good also, even though at a first listening you'll probably take it as a simple work; it might be simple, but it's very effective and energy-driven. During this almost an hour of "From the Depths of Time" every musician in Avian will have his chance of showing his skills through multiple sollos. Great production, impressive cover artwork, a band for the mainstream of power metal! Don't miss it!
