Review: Seraphel comes from Italy and everything about it emanates black metal. From the cover, to the lyrics, to the band's members' face paintings, everything is black metal. These four guys went in the Norwegian direction and recorded here 7 quite good tracks filled with a grim atmosphere and complex rhythms. This is again no inovation to the scene, but at least they sound good and won't bore you to death as a lot of other bands do. They are around only since 2003 and I say this album really opens new opportunities for them. At first they tried to be symphonic, but on these recordings they are just very technical and sometimes even melodic. They were helped by their brothers from Hiems Aeterna, a much more known name in the underground, but still unknown. My predictions are that Seraphel will reach a higher status than Hiems Aeterna if they stick to the job and do it seriously. Seraphel is aggressive, fast, dark, misterious and sometimes melancholic.
