Review: Mater Monstifera is a black metal band with keyboard melodic touches here and there. Their music is not impressive as it has no original points, but it's well executed and the fact their lyrics are in Czech (oh, what a great language for black metal) gives them a more raw edge. All inhere is average, only the guitares are sometimes trying something different. The bad part is that they are not a soft and melodic black metal band, nor an ultra-fast and aggressive one, so that makes them average in my oppinion. They don't excel in nothing, although not doing a bad job at all. But as this is their debut EP, hopefully the album will be more in a way or another. The vocalist reminds me sometimes Adramelech of their fellow countrymen Inferno.
