Review: Defeated Sanity is a new band for my ears, but it seems tehy are around for some time, as they started back in 1994 as a brutal death metal duo-project. After releasing 3 demos Grodhaisn Productions from The Czech Republic releases them on a split with Poppy Seed Grinder. The next step for them was the release, in 2003, of a new split, this time with Imperious Malevolence, out on Merciless Records with a huge delay. Last year they were picked up by the English Grindethic Records which released their debut full-lenght album. And here it is. i don't really know if all the tracks inhere are totally new or just re-recorded, but this band seems preety tight and coagulated. These 8 tracks were recorded in Soundforge Studios and have a really good sound, close to the American one. Not only the sound is in the American way, but the music also, a slap of brutal blasting death metal a la Deeds Of Flesh/Gorgasm. Their instrumental skills are impressive and that's why we can hear a lot of technical riffs on this album. This is a band to look for! If you're a fan of that American blasting death metal you have to get "Prelude to Tragedy" and I guarantee you won't be dissapointed. There are no weak points on this one! |
