Review: Underground and fuckin' brutal, those are the bands Grindethic is proposing us for on this compilation. Some of them have inked a deal with the English label, some with others (Extremist, Golden Lake, Unmatched Brutality, Copro and Killzone) and some are unsigned. I'll take each track, one by one and say a few words on them, although there are a lot of 'em.
- track taken from "Prelude..." reviewed elsewhere in this section;
- chaotic, brutal dual-vocal grind massacre with American sound;
- track taken from "Hung..." reviewed elsewhere in this section;
,5 - low-tuned, raw and unpolished gore/grind with movie-samples and two vocals;
- used to be one of my fave underground bands, but they seem to be completely different now - death metal with no real impressive parts;
- death/grind metal with really good drum-work. A good and catchy track, one of the best on this compilation;
- haunting riffs, dual-vocal, good brutality and fast rhythm, very good death/grind;
- mad and ultra-brutal groovy grindcore - great;
- low tuned death/grind with good instrumentists, but a very weak sound;
- ultra-brutal and well-executed death metal with weak sound;
- good gore death/grind with interesting composition, but weak sound;
- brutal death/grind with low tuned vocal, shredding guitars and poundering blastbeats;
- fast and brutal death metal with very good rhythm;
- well executed brutal death metal;
- guttural death metal with good conception and execution;
,18 - chaotic grindcore with interesting composition but quite weak execution;
,20 - insane grindcore, but very chaotic in a bad way;
- brutal, low-tuned death metal with technical guitar leads;
- technical melodic death metal, a more technical version of the old Tiamat;
- raw, fast, brutal and aggressive black metal with good atmosphere;
- black metal with quite technical guitar riffs;
- ultra-fast, chaotic and brutal death metal with low sound but good instrumental skills;
- very good ferocious, dual-vocal death metal;
- ultra-low gore grind, quite simple but effective;
- CBT-like track with incredibly annoying drum-machine.
All in all this is a good compilation where you can discover a bunch of good bands from the nowadays brutal metal undergorund. Who knows, some of them might be the next Cryptopsy or Dying Fetus...
