Review: Couple of years ago I started to dislike the black metal scene not because my tastes in music were changing, but because the people involved in that scene, all their whole envy, greed and helplessness. And I'm not talking here about all black metallers, but about an important part of them, the ones who liked more to talk behind others' backs and spit on others' work rather than doing good music. I guess you know what I'm talking about. Now I have nothing against that scene and I'm really glad when I receive good stuff. That's the case of Cirith Gorgor, a very good band from The Netherlands signed with the German Ketzer Records. This album is a masterpiece in the genre, believe me! If you're into fast and technical black metal, this will surely satisfy your desires. Although almost an hour of playing, this will not bore you at all! Cirith Gorgor are fast, aggressive, evil and very skilled musicians that create a perfect black metal atmosphere. My personal favourite track is "The Gates of Hell" which might as well be taken as a hit for sure. Track number 4 is a synth intermezzo that is impressively reminding me of Vinterriket. Maybe Vinterriket is playing it... All in all this is a recommended product for all black metallers out there for its atmosphere and catchy tunes, not to forget the good sound and production.
