Review: Aura was formed in 1996 and since now they have recorded 3 demo CDs and now this promo CD released by Mkm Promotion which is a label too I think, but I might be mistaken and they could be just their management agency. This CD could be easily released as a full-lenght CD if there have been only one track more on it because you can see above by yourselves the lenght of the whole deal. Progressive metal is their way of expressing music and they do it very technical and melodic because impressive instrumental skills are not missing from here. The first track striked me with the weird way the vocal is singing, quite childishly I thought, but then I saw how catchy and memorable those lines were - nice job, Giovanni! The second track is an epic, keyboard - based one filled with emotions. Track three is very metal and the guitars and the keyboards sound like they are in a continuous dialog, from anger, to calm, to serenity, to madness, there's all you need. Track 4 is almost epic power metal in its energy and force, and the last one is a slow and nice ballad, but maybe a little too long. From all the Italian bands I've listened this is the one that sounds the less Italian than any other, well maybe the last track only. Too bad I don't have the lyrics to see if this CD is a conceptual one, as from the cover it seems to be so. Aura is definitely a band to be followed.
